Hyperdash NewsCommodities

Gasoline prices could remain high past the summer driving season, potentially setting a Labor Day record. A global shortfall in refining capacity, worsened by conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, contributes to a tight fuel market. This could keep gas prices elevated into the fall despite softening demand.

Global refineries processed 5.1 million fewer barrels a day in the second quarter compared to the same period in 2025. Middle Eastern refiners processed 7.6 million barrels a day in the second quarter, a fifth less than in 2025, due to Strait of Hormuz disruptions and facility damage.

WTI Crude is up +0.17% on Hyperdash since the news landed, with Brent Crude up +0.13%.
