This discontinuation follows years of challenges for Tesla's solar business. Wood Mackenzie reported that Tesla installed only 3,000 Solar Roof systems in the U.S. since the product's 2016 introduction, far short of its 2019 goal to install 1,000 per week in the first half of 2020.
