US Crude Inventories Rise Unexpectedly, Fuel Stocks Decline

Hyperdash NewsCommodities

US crude oil inventories rose by 2.479 million barrels last week, defying expectations for a decrease. Cushing crude stocks also increased by 2.356 million barrels. Meanwhile, distillate stocks fell by 3.473 million barrels and gasoline stocks dropped by 1.643 million barrels. Refinery utilization decreased by 0.70%.

The unexpected build in crude inventories suggests softer demand or increased supply for raw crude. Conversely, the declines in refined product stocks point to tighter conditions in the fuel market, potentially driven by stronger consumption or reduced refinery output. Since the news broke,

WTI Crude has gained +0.25% and Brent Crude 0.20% on Hyperdash.
