US S&P September Prelim PMI Report Released

The S&P Global Flash US Composite PMI decreased to 53.6 in September from 54.6 in August, marking a second consecutive month of slower growth. Services sector activity saw its weakest pace since June, while manufacturing output growth also eased from August's 39-month high.

Despite the slowdown, the September reading still indicates the strongest quarterly expansion since late 2024. Input costs rose to their highest level since May, driven by tariffs, but firms reported the slowest rise in output charges since April. Since this news broke,
