US Saudi Oil Imports Fall to Zero in July Amid Hormuz Conflict

US imports of Saudi crude oil dropped to zero in July, marking the first full month without such imports since 1985. This halt in supply followed disruptions in the Gulf, prompting US refiners to seek alternative sources. Venezuela increased its crude exports to the US by approximately 600,000 barrels per day to help fill the gap.

The disruption in Saudi crude flows led to a significant shift in US oil sourcing. While July saw no imports, Saudi crude imports are projected to recover to around 300,000 barrels per day this month.
